Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coup\u00e9 with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. In addition, the six-cylinder MGC was launched in 1967, and a later derivative, the MGB GT V8 fitted with the Buick-based Rover V8, replaced it from 1973 to 1976.
