One all ways wonders: what to do with old Hermes scarves. I once wanted to make a quilt out of them, later on wanted to turn them into curtains, tres chic. But the latest innovating idea I had seen was this lampshade made out of them. Off course downscaling it to a normal proportion is also an option. And less scarves needed.

Antique Garage, this lovely restaurant in Mercer street, New York is such a nice place to go for lunch, surrounded by antiques all displayed in an old garage. We adored it, i hope you do as well.

This winter, Santoni makes sure that you will look stylish and your feet will be warm. With a collection of shoes that are all handcrafted with names as Everest and St. Moritz, the name “Mountain Chic” really comes to mind. So what else can one do than purchase a pair of Santoni’s, i love the fact that they can be worn casual but they look also very sophisticated under a pair of grey flannel trousers.

Nicolicious on restaurants: we have always loved Balthazar’s in Soho New York. Why? First the atmosphere is so french, the food is beyond excellent, there are no american wines on the wine list! Reservation is needed, and can only be done by telephone.{212 941 0364}

Nicolicious on curtains: do you want to make your curtains stand out just simple add a decorative trimming, like this dust ruffle. The golden rule is allways use ton sur ton colors and never a contrast color. Works very well with double layered velvet curtains

New York: I just love shopping in the Big Apple. My route all ways starts at the Ralph Lauren store on Madison avenue, at number 88 they built the new ladies and home store, welcome in the world of fabulosity. Amazing what RL created, a must see. Walking down Madison you will find all the big brands. At the 58 th street I turn left towards 5th avenue, on 5th Bergdorff Goodmann is by far the most sophisticated department store in the world.{in christmas time they spend 1 million usd on there window display}. Walking down you will find more mainstream brands like Abercrombie, Hollister and Armani. A nice outsider is Henri Bendel a classic american dept.store. On 50 th street you will find Saks and Rockefeller plaza, with the famous ice rink, and millions of tourists.
