Nicolicious on vases. the ideal vases for roses is this one designes by Aalvar Aalto since its unveiling in 1937 at the Paris World’s Fair, the Aalto vase has been an international sensation. Its mysterious shape has been the subject of much speculation; some say it is based on Aalto’s sketches entitled, “The Eskimo Woman’s Leather Breeches.” Others speculate that the fluid shape might be inspired by the lines of the Finnish landscape. Regardless of its questionable origins, one thing remains indisputable: its serene beauty.

One all ways wonders: what to do with old Hermes scarves. I once wanted to make a quilt out of them, later on wanted to turn them into curtains, tres chic. But the latest innovating idea I had seen was this lampshade made out of them. Off course downscaling it to a normal proportion is also an option. And less scarves needed.
